Education and Creative Director for Design Master

Flowers were my gateway to color. I love observing the intricacies of color in action and how they make me feel. My career was sparked by a high school job at my hometown florist. Armed with style my boss artfully manipulated the visible spectrum into vibrant messages wrought in petal and leaf. I was smitten. A Horticulture degree followed. Floral design launched my 40-year career encompassing floral retail, wholesale, design education, marketing, and product development.

Today I am the Edu + Creative Director for Design Master®, A Division Of Smithers-Oasis Company, and promote the use of color in both the floral and creative industries. I work remotely for Design Master and reside in Auburn, CA.

I have presented three AIFD Symposium programs on color, am a member of the Color Marketing Group and research and consult on color trends. I anticipate and observe how the public responds and develop new color spray products.Working with color feels innate to many of us but knowing the why behind color is empowering.
