Black is elegant

Think of Midnight as the little black dress of floral foam. While green foam is still the workhorse, black foam takes designs upscale. Another advantage of black foam?

Another advantage of using black foam as the core of your design? As the fresh flowers fade and are removed, the open black spaces add depth to the design. (Florists often ask if Midnight floral foam is like Rainbow Foam. The answer is no. Rainbow foam was very dense and didn’t saturate with water very well.) Midnight maintains all the positive design qualities of our classic green foam in upscale black. It saturates well and has enhanced biodegradability.

Designing in a pumpkin

[rev_slider alias="midnight-halloween-1"] Midnight black floral foam helps to make designing fast in just five easy steps!
  • Cut your pumpkin to the size of arrangement you desire. Either make a cap of the stem section by cutting the top of the pumpkin or cut it in half halfway down the fruit.
  • Clean out all of the pulp and seeds inside the pumpkin.
  • Add three or four Cowee wood picks to the inside of the pumpkin top. The opposite ends will insert into your block of foam to help keep the pumpkin top firmly in place.
  • Insert the appropriately sized water-saturated block of foam into the pumpkin.
  • Add your fresh flowers and any decorative materials.
When it comes to placing the flowers into the pumpkin, you have two options. You can place the wet foam directly against the pumpkin’s inner flesh or you can place a plastic liner or Lomey dish inside the base of the pumpkin to hold the foam. Using a container to hold the foam is advisable as it keeps the pumpkin from deteriorating quickly. Keeping the water away from the pumpkin flesh also cuts down on the growth of bacteria, making the flower arrangement last longer as well.

Designing in clear vases

[rev_slider alias="midnight-halloween-2"]   There is no need to cover the Midnight foam that shows through the clear glass vase with foliage or other decorative materials. The black foam recedes visually making it look like a black container and highlights the bold color of the flowers. Utilizing an exposed mechanics technique (allowing the floral mechanic to be a part of the design), the black foam becomes an element of the composition. Pumpkin Floral Centerpiece Midnight foam | OASIS Floral Products The foam looks a charcoal gray color when dry and turns black when wet. Advise your customers to keep an eye on the color of the foam as they enjoy their flower arrangement. When the foam begins to dry out and looks gray again, it’s time to add fresh water to the vase.

It’s the same strong product

Midnight foam has the same density as our MaxLife green floral foam. This stability allows you to insert a Cowee wood pick into fresh gourds and pumpkins and the other end into water-saturated floral foam. The pick will swell when wet and help to secure the accent pieces. Halloween Floral Centerpiece Midnight foam | OASIS Floral ProductsThe black floral foam extends the look of the black metal band that encircles the top of these black-rubbed raffia containers creating larger arrangements without adding more flowers. [rev_slider alias="midnight-halloween-5"]   Midnight foam works great in a brick tray as well as shown in the photo below. The floral foam and tray are both black so they recede visually, leaving only the bright flowers to capture the eye.   Halloween Floral Centerpiece Midnight foam | OASIS Floral Products

I wish people worked out more humanity

at the end of July, audra Rudder, A co founder of the online dating site OkCupid, Plunged himself [url=https://www.bestbrides.net/pof-com-review-2020-is-plenty-of-fish-a-good-dating-site?/]plenty of fish dating site[/url] into the middle of an Internet maelstrom when he published a post with a classic poke the anthill headline: "We try Human Beings,

The provocation came in the middle of a storm of commentary sparked by the revelations that Facebook had been purposefully manipulating its users’ emotions by tinkering with its news feed. Rudder contended that such tweaking was more normal and normal. In OkCupid’s celebration, The company had temporarily adjusted its matching algorithm so that some people ended up with selections that the algorithm would normally have considered bad matches and vice versa, some individuals whom the algorithm should have concluded were good matches were told they were a bad fit. But in an unplanned twist, The post turned into something good publicity for Rudder’s new book, "Dataclysm: Who We Are When we believe No One’s Looking, just to illustrate: I had funding review copy of the book sitting on my desk, But it was only after the hoopla over Rudder’s blog post that I took a good look and decided it was a must read.

and indeed it is. “Dataclysm” Is an interesting and funny look at what the numbers reveal about human behavior in the age of social media. It’s both profound and a bit distressful, for the, sorry to say, We’re generally not the type of people we like to think or say we are.

Rudder begins his book with a upsetting opening salvo: Two charts that reveal what age groups many people generally find attractive. beyond age 20 to 50, Women are quality they’re drawn to men who are in roughly the same age cohort. Men are equally long term: based in age 20 50, They are attracted to 20 year olds. Rudder does the math on what different groups are most or least able to say in their profiles: schwarze men, as an example, not often mention Belle and Sebastian, scuba diving or "Dr Horrible’s Sing the size of Blog, White women don’t demonstrate slow jams, J take or Malcolm X. bright guys, unfortunately, Are really into mentioning their "Blue adoring, producing beer, in addition to the Robert Heinlein. Asian men often times say "Tall on an Asian, “Gangnam product” and as a result "Noodle soups,)

Rudder treats this into the human condition with bemused and very useful intelligence. We’re only just beginning to have the knowledge much we can learn about ourselves and others from the data that is constantly being harvested from us. the greater we know, The better armed we are to navigate times to come. People online are free to act out their worst impulses with almost nothing incentive to act out their best. I guess it just goes to show how politeness or propriety keeps us decent human beings. such as Cool Ranch Doritos gratify certain taste receptors that are probably not very good for my digestive tract, things like Twitter or Reddit or even OkCupid gratify our tastes in ways that should probably best be left unsated.

How does that make you feel as a researcher? Have you become more cynical simply because what you’ve learned by watching how people behave on OkCupid?I definitely have a number of ambivalence about the Internet generally and what we do at OkCupid. OkCupid does a lot of wonderful landmarks. We do find people like, We do create marriage and kids and happiness in a pure sense, In wherein, state that, Amazon would not. but there is a downside: In the entire finding that love or sex or whatever they’re looking for, People are easily more judgmental. It’s a fraught thing. I can see the good and the bad in all this, But where it all comes out finally, i am not sure. I think the existence of the Internet is a good thing, But I do wish people exercised more humanity in using power tools.

I’d like to break the format of the conventional Q a bit, And just read some lines within your book that jumped out at me, And see if I can prompt you to complicated on them. as an example, You showed that "the ’net will democratize our fundamental narrative, what am i saying?

What I meant was that the Internet will enable, On full of scale, such as what Howard Zinn was doing in his "People’s History of the usa, Zinn’s trying to reach for what the common person discussed World War I or the Civil War, Or go back and find out what a housewife in 1970 was worrying about her life. computers that is crunching all that stuff pulls us all together. in an real sense, We are all given the same weight in any of these computations.

I guess that connects instantly to another sentence that caught my eye: "alongside data, History can be transformed into deeper, It can be a little more,

that’s exactly what I’m talking about.

think about the abs, "It’s when people don’t understand their own hearts I get interested,I like it when you are able to look at a behavior in two ways. One: What people think they are doing or wish they were doing, and so two: What they really do. At OkCupid we have a great mechanism for studying that: We have all these match questions where we ask people what consider or what they think, And then we can go in and measure exactly what they’re actually doing. I just think that the space between self image and action is worth it to read.
