Bout Art: 26 ways real men wear cool flowers

Why does Alan Masters AIFD wear Bout Art every Sunday? "I want to see people wearing fresh flowers again," says the La Porte, Texas, designer. He believes artistic boutonnieres are a must-have accessory for both church and prom. Bout Art | OASIS Floral Products "My great-grandmother wore a corsage to church every Sunday, and that inspires me to wear flowers." It's a conversation starter, he says, a way to get noticed and meet new people. He also wears Bout Art in the flower shop while selling prom flowers, to encourage prom guys to choose the artsy style for themselves. Sporting a new bout each Sunday creates the challenge of creating unique designs. To showcase his floral artistry, Alan had to expand his thinking from traditional boutonnieres to include the latest buttonhole fashion: Bout Art. Alan was awarded first place in the first annual Jim Johnson Cup floral competition in Houston, Texas, in 2017.
